Last
August 31, 2011, Manila, the Ramon Magsaysay Awards took
place in the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).
Asia’s premier prize, or equivalent to Asia’s
Nobel prize, is given yearly to Asians who make a difference
and have upheld the values of human dignity and the common
good. This year was quite special as the year’s
theme centered on ecological preservation and harnessing
technology for people empowerment. In this article, we
give a brief description of this year’s awardees.
